Through my experience, I have learned in order to get things done for you, it takes a combination of hard work, the ability to work across the aisle and, most importantly, to listen to your needs to ensure my focus is in the right direction.

My Priorities

Protecting livestock and the ranching community

Problem wolves and cougars are preying on livestock continually and without fear. This is devastating our ranchers and livestock owners. In addition, the state's efforts to reduce wolf-livestock conflicts are failing. Washingtonians deserve better.

Protecting our forests, homes, and land from wildfires

Decades of mismanaging our state forests has led to several wildfire seasons that have devastated communities, homes, and families across Washington. I'm working to bring field-tested, common-sense solutions to managing our forests and getting more training and equipment to the right people, in the right places, more quickly.

Tax relief and affordability

The majority party continues to pass tax increases, even with a projected four-year budget surplus of $15 billion! Inflation is at a 40-year high, gas prices are skyrocketing, and Olympia keeps passing policies that increase the costs of everything from building homes to food security.

Protecting and preserving rural families, lifestyles, and economies

I believe Washington's rural families deserve protection from the progressive policies emanating from Seattle and other urban centers. Our rural economies have too often been sacrificed for the feel-good environmental beliefs that bring little environmental benefit at too high a cost to our rural way of life. I will continue to fight for all Washington families.

Meet Joel Kretz

Joel is a lifelong Washingtonian who grew up on Mercer Island and now makes his home in Wauconda, in Okanogan County where he raises horses and cattle. Joel attended Green River Community College and Olympic Community College before moving to Eastern Washington to live and work off the land....
